I have been quiet for a couple of weeks – mainly because we just moved into our dream house near Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland! Actually, let’s be honest I immersed myself in time out land there for what was supposed to be a week and ended up looking more like three. And it was DELICIOUS!
Now, I promised you I would share my manifestation mojo secrets with you when I got back from holidays … And more precisely, how my family and I turned this intentions list::
It says “OUR HOUSE: 3 bedrooms plus office, storage or shed, 5 minutes from River School, $490 or less. Awesome Bonuses: pool, second lounge room, chook pen and vege patch”. This is my daughter’s visual version of a family intentions list we wrote around July 2013, with our written version also including things like “amazing views, large office with separate entrance away form living areas, gourmet kitchen with marble benchtops, large verandahs on at least 3 sides, on top of a mountain or hill, Landsborough side of Maleny, at least 1.5 acres of land, away from neighbours, salt water pool” … and the list continued
Into this reality::
You guessed it – 3 months later we moved into our dream home, complete with EVERYTHING on our intentions list plus the added bonus of a trampoline for the little ladies and chickens we were gifted as part of the deal. Welcome to the family Midnight, Indigo, Ginger, Zeb and Prickles. Here’s a pic of my gals and some of the chooks taken for a magazine spread (more on that later).
So exactly HOW did we turn a wishlist into reality? Well I am sure you have heard of the unchangeable laws of the Universe – in other words, the Law of Attraction, or like attracts like, or however else you want to say it! That’s it. But don’t make the mistake of thinking we wrote that list and waited for the dream house to fall into our laps! Oh no sireeee!
Here’s how we did it in 3 simple steps:
1) Set It Up
It is NOT enough to think about something you would like, but keep it so non-specific the Universe has no flipping idea what you actually want! That’s like saying to the waiter in a restaurant “surprise me” then feeling disappointed when you don’t like what he brings.
Get specific baby – in as much detail as you possibly can get – make a list of EVERYTHING YOU DESIRE (one aspect of life at a time) without censoring yourself. Its great to get kids and partners involved in intention setting for stuff that affects them too.
Combining you energy adds to the manifestation mojo!
2) Step Into It
Now you have the backbones down, it’s time to layer in every single sense. Put the list somewhere you see it every day and spend time flexing your imagination muscles (remember your gorgeous brain DOES NOT know the difference between “reality” and “imagination”). The first list above was stuck on my office wall, bedside table and fridge for the entire manifestation period. I spent at least 10 minutes every day picturing us in this house – how I wanted to feel opening the door, what he house represented to us (harmony, peace of mind, safety, warmth, heart based life, playtime), the sounds of the kids playing in the pool, the peaceful feeling late at night as I walked over the wooden floorboards, the calm in the air just before dawn breaks over an amazing view and how fabulous it feels to have acreage for parties and space. Multiple layers of every single sense!
3) Skin in the Game
Here’s where we get into “don’t just sit there gazing at your navel and wish till the cows come home but NOT take any action!” territory.
Once you have activated the intention, its time to take consistent action. In our case of course that was in the form of connecting with local real estate agents, checking realestate.com every 4.5 seconds, being open to possibilities, telling everyone our intentions, asking friends to keep an eye out. We also started a drastic declutter (spring is the perfect time after all) and I thanked our old house for its service and care to our family, making way for the dream home to appear.
Every day I took action towards the intention and every day I flexed my imagination muscles.
and then ….. “the magical forgotten step” …. STOP settling
Now I sucked at this for many many years. I made the mistake of thinking that if I had not had something I desired before, it was not possible for me now – and guess where that takes us? Smack bang into settle land.
You know what I mean right? Oh I made a list of 10 definite things, but I am going to settle for something that meets 5 of them and give up on the rest. This is akin to ordering a gourmet piece of fresh-caught Red Emporer in a fine dining establishment, then settling for a plate of fish fingers. It kinda looks like fish, and it kinda smells like fish, so I best take what I can get coz I KNOW I wont really get what I really ordered.
STOP IT RIGHT NOW! You deserve all you desire, so stop putting the brakes on when you are almost there, don’t settle and hold out for what FEELS right to you.
So, that’s it in a nutshell honey! As with everything mindset is KEY to manifesting anything you desire in your life.
